The Kingdom’s Health Sector Transformation Program emphasizes continuous development of the healthcare system and enhanced quality of care and services provided. Established to contribute to the realization of the “Vibrant Society”, one of the main pillars of the Kingdom’s Vision, the program seeks to restructure the health sector, and enhance its capabilities as an effective, integrated ecosystem that ensures the best care for the Kingdom’s citizens and residents.
The Program commenced implementation strategically with the digitization of patient records and connecting all healthcare sector entities and organizations into a centralized, highly effective network to enable timely health consultation, care, and counseling for patients regardless of their location. The more centralized healthcare system has also led to better diagnostics, coordination, and overall care across public and private health institutions.
The program also saw the launch of Seha Virtual Hospital (SVH). A hospital that provides telehealth services to empower health consultants and practitioners in even the micro and rare specialties through the latest medical technologies. The world’s largest virtual hospital supports 130 hospitals around the Kingdom providing 30 specialized virtual services and has facilitated several telesurgeries ever since its inception. It enables surgeons to benefit from their more experienced colleagues on a global level and receive the support they need to achieve success.
